For more than three decades, Dr. John D. Lorenzetti, M.D., F.A.C.S., P.C. has cared for patients facing some of life's most personal and difficult decisions. As a board-certified breast surgeon, he has built his practice around thoughtful surgical judgment, compassionate communication, and treating every patient with the time and attention they deserve.

After years of serving in leadership roles within a large health system, Dr. Lorenzetti made the intentional decision to return to private practice. It allowed him to focus on what first inspired him to become a physician: building meaningful relationships with patients, listening without rushing, and providing highly personalized care during moments that matter most.

Today, Lorenzetti Breast Care reflects that philosophy—an independent practice where every patient is treated as an individual, never as a number.

As far back as he can remember, Dr. Lorenzetti knew he wanted to become a surgeon. Breast surgery, however, was not originally on his path.

A deeply personal family experience changed everything.

When his daughter developed a rare and aggressive form of cancer at a young age, it profoundly changed his perspective—not only as a father, but as a physician. That experience reinforced the importance of compassion, communication, and seeing every patient as a person first.

Throughout his career, Dr. Lorenzetti has witnessed remarkable advances in breast surgery.

Where radical mastectomies were once considered routine, decades of research have transformed the field. Today, breast-conserving approaches often provide excellent outcomes while preserving quality of life whenever clinically appropriate.

Dr. Lorenzetti has embraced these advances throughout his career, combining evidence-based medicine with thoughtful surgical judgment to help each patient choose the treatment that is right for them—not simply the treatment that is available.

Dr. Lorenzetti is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery.

He earned his undergraduate degree from Ohio University before receiving his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine. He completed both his internship and general surgery residency at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, where he served as Chief Resident during his surgical training.

Having grown up in southern New Jersey, Dr. Lorenzetti is proud to continue caring for patients throughout New Jersey and the surrounding region in the community he has always called home.

Today, his focus remains exactly where he believes it belongs: providing thoughtful, individualized breast care in a private practice where patients receive the time, attention, and personal connection they deserve.
